چکیده

Cell-wall fractions were obtained from Aspergillus niger and Chaetomium globosum. Non-structural protein was removed by successive washes in urea, NH,OH and formic acid. Amino acid analyses indicated that structural wall proteins were acidic. Aspartic acid was the free amino terminal residue of the protein in both species. Comparison of the ‘maps’ of peptic peptides indicate that there may be some homology between the wall proteins of the two fungi.

Screening of Microfungi from Soybean (glycine Max L.) Seeds

Seed health testing by studying the seed-borne fungi of soybean seeds is an important step in the management of the seed-borne diseases. In the present study seed-borne fungi was studied by using agar plate method. A number of seed-borne fungal species was isolated from the agar plate. These seed-borne fungal sps. were Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, A. fumigatus, Chaetomium globosum, Curvularia ...

Functional analysis of the degradation of cellulosic substrates by a Chaetomium globosum endophytic isolate.

Most photosynthetically fixed carbon is contained in cell wall polymers present in plant biomasses, the largest organic carbon source in the biosphere. The degradation of these polymers for biotechnological purposes requires the combined action of several enzymes. To identify new activities, we examined which enzymes are activated by an endophytic strain of Chaetomium globosum to degrade cellul...
